Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg Rides PRT’s Light Rail During Pittsburgh Visit

 

Outgoing Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg made his last visit to Pittsburgh on Friday, January 10th, riding the rail and meeting with the staff and workers shaping the future of Pittsburgh’s transit system.

From repairs to our high platforms, to modernizations across the light rail system like the guarded rail replacement, infrastructure improvements are helping shape the future of our legacy transportation system!

Buttigieg took the T from Allegheny Station, met with CEO Katharine Kelleman and greeted construction workers at Steel Plaza station.

Every federal dollar matters when it comes to maintaining and improving Pittsburgh Regional Transit infrastructure. Future projects include updating our rail cars and garage facilities and continuing maintenance throughout Pittsburgh and across the county.
